EPISODE 20
It’s been a week i resumed my duty post as the company’s managing director, after my one month leave.
Things had been going pretty smoothly for me and I had nothing to worry about.
I made it a constant habit to frequently call aisha just to here her voice, and she always spoke lively to me too.
Most times if I feel like seeing her face, I talk to her via video call.
The love i have for Aisha was still hundred percent intact, and sometimes it makes me wonder if I would be able to easily move on and fall in love with someone else.
Till this moment, aisha still didn’t ask about ekaette, she didn’t even ask if am in a new relationship, or something related to ekaette.
One morning, I came to my office as usual, and immediately i started working, my phone beeped.
I checked my phone and discovered I had a new message on whatsapp, from an unsaved number.
I opened it, and I saw a photo containing a pen like object which had two red lines on it, with a caption ” WE ARE PREGNANT” along with a smiling emoji attached to it.
I was still staring at the message confused, then another one came in again, it was a photo which contained a lab pregnancy test results, and POSITIVE was boldy written on it.
Who the hell is this, sending me this nonsense?…….I yelled.
Just then my phone started ringing, and it was the same unsaved number that sent me those photos on WhatsApp.
My Truecaller showed it was ekaette calling, and my face instantly got red in anger.
If not that I have self control, i almost smáshed my phone àgainst the wáll of my office.
Ekaette kept calling and calling, but I didn’t pick up because of my mood that moment.
I felt a wave of anger, disgust and distain all over me.
What guts does ekaette have, to think she could blackmail me with her stupid pregnancy, and i would foolishly accept it?
Ekaette called severally more than twenty times, but I still didn’t pick up, I would have simply switched off my phone, but I didn’t want to, because of other important clients that would call.
I continued with what I was working on previously before seeing those photos ekaette sent.
While working the door to my office opened wildely, and I stared in amusement, at ekaette and my secretary having an argument by the doorpost.
The secretary was trying to stop ekaette from coming into my office, but ekaette was putting up a fight with her, trying to force her way in.
Seeing the whole chaos, and not wanting to attract other employees to the scene, i ordered my secretary to let ekaette in, and she should go back to her duty post.
Ekaette catwalked into my office like she owned the office, shutting the door behind her rudely, then she readjust her blouse, trying to show of her cleavages.
Then she stood in front of me staring at me, with her arms folded beneath her Bossom.
For some minutes, ekaette and I kept staring at each other without saying a word, her presence was beginning to irritate me, so I spoke first.
Are you just going to stand there staring at me like a lost monkey?
Kindly say what brought you to my office, and leave immediately…….I blasted angrily.
I don’t understand you Alex, you saw my message didn’t you?
So you ought to have known why am here, am one month pregnant for you……..she responded, rubbing her tummy gently, smiling at me.
To her utmost surprise I started laughing out loud, I could see the confusion on her face, wondering why I was laughing.
You are such a clown you know, I think you should just resign from the job you are doing in this company, and start up a comedy show………I said scornfully.
Alex this is no time for jokes, don’t make a fool out of me, it’s the séx we both had the last time I was at your house that resulted to this pregnancy, and you know it……… she replied rolling her eyes at me.
Oh is that so, I thought you are an adult, why didn’t you take care of yourself after the show, did i told you i was ready to father a child?……..I said, with a smirk on my face.
Alex stop this please, what has come over you?
To my calculations, you should be almost 37 now, and you are still not ready to father a child?……. she asked with her eyes widened in surprise.
Of course am ever ready to father a child, but I refuse to accept a child from a cheap slút like you, how am i even sure that I am the only you had a thing with, you have been throwing yourself at other men too, so look for the next person to pin that pregnancy on ……I fired back.
Did you just call me a slút Alex, then what difference is Aisha from me then, what good did you find in that bîtch, did you met her a virgin?…….. ekaette said rudely.
Immediately she said that, I lost my cool and stood up angrily, giving ekaette a resounding slàp.
Alex did you just slap me?……. she asked holding her burning cheeks looking at me in shock and regret.
And I will do that again if you don’t watch your tongue next time, you dirty swine.
Now let me sound a warning to you, if you don’t get rid of that bàstárd in your womb, i will make sure I kill you myself, then I will go àfter yóur fàmily, and take them one after the other.
Alex you can’t do anything, if you think i would be scared of you because of this little threat you just made, then you lied, am not afraid of you…….. she fired at me.
Oh is that so?
I don’t make empty threats you know, you have bitten more than you can chew my dear, now come let me show you something………I said, bringing my laptop close to her.
Ekaette watched in horror as i showed her the photos of all her families, their house address, and their place of work too, i even showed ekaette her house address, and the photo of her house.
I got all her information from a trusted source because I knew ekaette would one day try something funny, so I got those information just incase, I wanted to be one step ahead of her.
How….h.ho.ww diidd you g…eee..ttt this information Alex?…… she asked stuttering, with tears flowing down her eyes.
That shouldn’t be your business ekaette, just get rid of that thing in your womb, and pretend we never had anything together and we are even…….I said with all seriousness.
I will have report you to our boss immediately…… she responded, about leaving my office.
One word from you to our boss, then consider your whole family dead, do you think your family would forgive you, if they died because of their foolish daughter, who is after a man who doesn’t love her?………..I asked scornfully which made her halted.
Then ekaette turned slowly towards me, apologizing for ever trying to blackmail me.
She also made a confession of trying to get me with a fake pregnancy, she promised never to bother me again, and left my office in a hurry, shutting the door loudly behind her.
After she left my office, i let out a satisfactory smile, proud of myself for being bold for once.
If i was the calm alex she knew before, I would have foolishly believed she was pregnant for me, and may be married her, against my wish.
I think I will have to maintain this new attitude of mine so that I would have some sense of authority.
